Campus Organizations: Starting a New Organization

Creating a new campus organization is simple and is done fairly often.  There are five simple steps a student must take to begin a new campus organization:

  1. Create a constitution

  2. Fill out an "Intent to Organize" form (which can be found at the Student Activities Office, in Wismer Lower Lounge).  You must fill out all parts of this form.

  3. Leave the "Intent to Organize" form, as well as your constitution, in the "Ursinus Student Government Association" mailbox, located in the Student Activities Office.

  4. Present your organization at a Town Hall meeting.  Prior to the meeting you are to present at, a member of the USGA Executive Board will contact you.

  5. Attend the next general meeting following the Town Hall.  This is when the vote on your organization will occur.

If you organization is approved by the USGA, your constitution and “Intent to Organize” form will be passed to the Student Activities and Services Committee (SASC).  SASC is a student-faculty committee.  They will consider your organization and vote on it.  If you organization passes both bodies (USGA and SASC), you have created an official campus organization and may begin normal club proceedings.
