Real Life, by Sabir Peele
Hi, I am Sabir Peele, class of 2008, and one of the newest members of Ursinus College. I am from Philadelphia, Pa, and I attended Central High School. I have two brothers and a sister, and some nieces and nephews. The biggest influence in my life is my grandmother. She is such a hard worker. I am big on activities, especially ones that offer positive exposure, such as Real Life @ Ursinus. Choosing Ursinus College may have been one of the easiest decisions that I have made in my life. There were a few other schools such as Univ. of Pittsburgh, Muhlenberg and Lafayette that accepted me, but I knew that the teaching staff at Ursinus would offer more of an interactive experience. Plus, I found out that Ursinus College has one of the top Psychology programs in the country. In all, I am 100% sure that Ursinus is the perfect place for me.  Follow Sabir's Real Life experience.

Real Life, by Alexandra Gaustad
Since I’ve arrived at Ursinus College, I have had the same conversation with almost everyone I’ve met.  It has gone something like this…
A friendly stranger sparks a conversation with,
“So, where are you from?”
"Northeastern PA,” I vaguely reply.
 “Oh really?  What city?”
I shake my head and say, “I’m sure you’ve never heard of it,” and then slowly sound out,
“Wy-al-oo-sing”.
Then the poor inquisitive thing asks, “Is that near Wilkes-Barre?”
“An hour”
“Oh! Then almost the NY border? Elmira? Binghamton?”
 “Well, an hour”
“Oh”. And that’s the end of it.
My small, rural farming community is basically a hidden gem in the Endless Mountains.  I went to a 7th-12th high school with about 700 students.  I was involved in many activities, ranging from cross country and track to orchestra and chorus.  I was active in the student council and the academic clubs such as Science Olympiad and Scholarship Challenge.  I was slightly intimidated and anxious about leaving home to attend college 3 hours away, outside of Philadelphia.  But, since I’ve been here, I’ve felt like I was at home.  The freshmen here, on the second floor of Beardwood, have become my new family; attending sporting events, visiting other houses, working out, and working on homework.  The upperclassmen have become like big brothers and sisters, encouraging me to get involved in USGA, Meistersingers, and committees to discuss important issues like the bookstore.  I couldn’t be happier!  And now I get to share this experience with all of you!
