THE FLOATING "FINAL" FORMULATION OF THE ARGUMENT
We offer up a "final" formulation with a wink and a nod to what we once
thought we could do. But "final" floats. So far, we have offered up three
"final" formulations of the postmodern argument. Another (and another)
doubtless will float into view sometime. We give all three of them. None will
satisfy desires for closure, for the real answer to what postmodernism
is. We lay them out in deference to the depth of those desires.
