The DE Tools that comes with the textbook has useful features, such as visualization of experiments, solutions, phase planes, bifurcations, interactive examples, and finding eigenvectors and eigenvalus. You should use it frequently outside of class to help you understand the topics and so the homework. You must install the DE Tools software on your computer. Do NOT buy the DE Tools Instant Access/card.You can get it for FREE by following the direction below:

Download this file to use DE Tools on your machine to install on a Windows, Mac, or Linux machine. Note that this version of the program should be used if you wish to print graphs through the program. Download Now:  http://www.cengage.com/cgi-wadsworth/course_products_wp.pl?fid=M20bI&product_isbn_issn=9781133109037, then click on ďDE Tools (no install)

Time Requirement. This is a 4 credit hour class meeting for 3 hours/week. The 4th hour is addressed through additional course activities and assignments to be completed outside, either independently or in small groups. In addition to readings, papers and projects, examples of auxiliary activities are listed below. Most of the learning takes place outside the classroom. I expect that you spend an absolute minimum of 8 hours a week outside of class on solving homework problems, reading the textbook and reviewing your class notes. Regular study is much better than cramming. If you do not have the time necessary, you should take the course some other semester.

Your worst test will be dropped; each of the two others will make 20% of your grade for the class. Make-up tests will only be given under exceptional circumstances (to be documented), and only if you notify me prior to the exam date. If a make-up is not given, your grade for the missed test is zero.

Final. The final on May (TBD) is mandatory and comprehensive. It counts 20 % of your grade. No make-up final will be given.

SPTQ: Close to the end of the semester, your will receive an email from the College to complete the Student Perception of Teaching Questionnaire (SPTQ).Please complete the SPTQ as it is a very important component used by the College for evaluation purposes of the instructor and is provides feedback to the instructor for changes and improvement in the course.††
