EPR and Bell's Theorem
``Is the moon there when nobody looks? Reality and the quantum theory,'' N. David Mermin, Physics Today, April 1895, 38 (1985).
- Consider the apparatus described in Mermin's paper, and imagine
that we have placed the first detector a little closer to the
source than the second detector, so that it always detects the
first photon of each entangled pair. Explain why we can't use
the switch on detector 1 to transmit messages to detector 2.
- Share any specific questions about the Mermin article you would
like us to address in class on 4/28.
