Finding Locations (periodicals in other libraries)

If you need an article from a periodical that we do not have, it may be possible to find it in a nearby library.
There are two sources, called union lists, that will be useful in your search.

REF                 PENNSYLVANIA UNION LIST OF PERIODICALS.  1984.  10 vols.
016.05                                                  Lists college, university, large corporate, and large public libraries
P386                            throughout the state.

REF                 TCLC – TRI-STATE COLLEGE LIBRARY COOPERATIVE SERIALS
016.5                              HOLDINGS.  2000.  3 vols.
T738                            An updated subset of the Pennsylvania list.  Reports the holdings of the
38 libraries in the cooperative to which Ursinus belongs.

Each set lists periodical holdings alphabetically by title.  The entry for each title lists the three-letter codes for the libraries which hold that periodical and the extent of their holdings.  In the front of each volume is a list of the library codes and the full name of the libraries.

Classical and modern literature.  Terre Haute,
                                       Indiana.  :  CML, c1980-                                              publishing
title                  Vol 1, no. 1 (fall 1980)-                                               information
                                       OCLC 5986688; ISSN 0197-2270
                                    MGC 2-7  1981-1987
location codes             QWC 1-  1981-                                      dates and volumes
                                    RMC 6-  1986-                                      of holdings

Make sure that the library you plan to visit has the dates/volumes that you need.

If you are looking for a particular location, for example St. Joseph, there is a green folder shelved near the union lists which contains an alphabetic list of all the libraries in the larger set.  From that you can learn the code for St. Joseph, then check the holdings list for that code, SJD.

At the Information Desk we have maps to many area colleges and universities, which you may photocopy.
