- The Human Body in Art and Science: In an effort to better understand the connections between art and science we can trace a particular path through the history of an endeavor common to both domains: representing the human body. Each discipline brings its own goals and techniques for dealing with this problem. There are frequent exchanges between the disciplines and thus we find moments of reconciliation between the different approaches. In this talk, I will examine Piero della Francesca's "Other Method" which anticipated Monge's descriptive geometry by some 300 years, a form of parallel projection used in anatomy, and modern imaging technology.
