- The mathematics of origami: A quick look at the wide variety of mathematics that comes out of folding paper. This is a flexible talk; depending on the audience, it can cover topics appropriate for a liberal arts audience (what shapes can be cut out of a piece of paper with a single straight cut, is there a way to tell if a pattern of folds on a piece of paper can be folded flat), all the way to advanced topics like how origami allows one to trisect angles and construct cube roots.
