Attending a Session of Congress when a Science Related issue is debated

Taking a summer course at another institution

Subscribing to a journal in your field of interest (Scientific American is a good start)

Doing a research project cosponsored by a Biology professor and a professor in another department, perhaps Math or Chemistry

Volunteering to be a judge at the local science fair, or giving a science lecture to a local elementary school or childcare center, or volunteering in a biology or medicine related institution such as the SPCA, a retirement home, a hospital, a hospice
