MEMBER DESCRIPTIONS
Leaders
The leadership of the chapter is comprised of the College Buddy Director,
Buddy Director, Faculty Advisor, Host Site Coordinator, Chapter Officers,
and Best Buddies Staff.
| College Buddy Director (CBD) |
Organizes, leads and maintains a chartered chapter of Best Buddies.
Ensures chapter members fulfill the mission of Best Buddies for one academic
year.
Qualifications
-
Must have one full year of college completed and be enrolled as a full
time undergraduate student.

Must have approved CBD application on file with Headquarters.

Must attend Leadership Conference.

Must be a matched College Buddy.
Responsibilities
-
Select chapter officers and hold regular officer meetings.
-
Establish regular contact with Host Site Coordinator and Faculty Advisor.

Hold an Organizational Meeting within the first 30 days of classes.
-
Supervise the distribution, collection and selection of all membership
applications, profiles and pledges used in the matching process.

Select and match College Buddies and Buddies with the assistance of the
Host Site Coordinator.

Apply for Chapter Charter at the Leadership Conference.

MAintain regular contact with the Program Manager and submit all required
paperwork by appropriate deadline.

Participate in two Chapter Reports with Program Manager (Mid-Year and Annual).

Plan, direct and run chapter meetings. Distribute semester schedules
and rosters.

Oversee transition of chapter officers and College Buddy Director position
in Spring.
Ensures full participation of Buddies in one-to-one matches and group
outings and assists fellow officers as needed.
Qualifications
-
Must have the ability to carry out assignments as designated by College
Buddy Director and Host Site Coordinator.

Must be a matched Buddy.
Responsibilities
-
Speak at Organizational Meeting.

Distribute chapter roster and schedules to Buddies.
-
In direct contact with the College Buddy Director and HSC throughout the
year regarding the progress and quality of one-to-one matches.

Represents Buddies. May attend chapter meetings to bring up any issues
or concerns.
Works as liaison between campus administration and the chapter.
Qualifications
-
Must be a member of the college faculty or full time staff.
Responsibilities
-
Attend the Organizational Meeting.

Meet periodically with the College Buddy Directory to review chapter membership,
activities and finances.

Assist chapter in securing official recognition as a student organization
on campus.

Assist chapter in accessing campus resources, including financial support
from the college/university when possible.
| Host Site Coordinator (HSC) |
Works as a liaison between Buddy Pairs and provides ongoing information,
education and training.
Qualifications
-
Must be a trained professional in the field of mental retardation.
Responsibilities
-
Supervise the distribution and collection of all Buddy applications.

Complete a Buddy Profile on each potential participant from the host site.
-
Attend the Organizational and Chapter Meetings. Answer questions
and provide training as needed.

Assist the College Buddy Director in matching College Buddies and Buddies.
-
Meet periodically with the College Buddy Director and/or Membership Coordinator
to review progress of Buddy Pairs.
